Administrators can order the BBR and the Smart SIM directly within iPortal under the Admin function. Please note that ordering the BBR would not automatically order the Smart SIM – they have to be ordered separately.
For all new user(s) of the BBR, kindly order new Smart SIM(s) instead of replacement Smart SIMs to ensure that your smart card is still activated until the Smart SIM has been activated.
What happens next?
The Security contact will receive a welcome letter containing the Smart SIM (for each user ordered) and/or the Barclays Biometric Reader(s). Full enrolment and software installation instructions are provided within the letter. Security contacts should hand the Smart SIM and Biometric readers to the specified user. A separate letter containing a one-time PIN for enrolment will be sent to each user at their registered address within our channels.
Once the user has completed enrolment, administrators are required to activate each user within Barclays.Net or iPortal under the Admin function. Please note that the user’s smart card profile will continue to be activated until the user’s Smart SIM profile has been activated by the administrator, therefore there would be no disruption to the user’s access to Barclays.Net or iPortal throughout this process.
