The Government of Peru has declared 9 December as a new annual public holiday commemorating the Battle of Ayacucho, which consolidated the independence of America. 9 December is a national holiday for all public entities and institutions in Peru and will be observed for the first time on 9 December 2022.

On 01 January 2022 the UAE changed its weekend from Friday / Saturday to Saturday / Sunday. Please note Barclays will not change the current cut off times, but the change in the weekend would in practice allow customers to achieve a value date on a Friday, which was not available before. Barclays payment systems have now been updated to reflect this change which means the first Friday you can achieve a value date for AED is Friday 14 January 2022.

In December 2021 the UAE Federal Government announced the UAE working week would change to a Saturday / Sunday weekend, effective from 01 January 2022. On 20 December 2021 the UAE Financial Regulator announced changes to UAE banking processes to support the government directive.
Due to the challenging notice period for this change, Barclays is currently working on the implementation for clients sending/receiving AED outside of the UAE. To ensure all impacted parties have sufficient time to complete the required changes Barclays will provide an update in due course, including the date from which the working day change for AED will be applied. Until then the AED cut-off time remains unchanged, as documented in the cut-off time guide relevant to your channel.
